Statement of Intent

The Trustees of the Titans Community Foundation (TCF) will meet their responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act to provide safe and healthy working conditions for employees, and ensure their work does not adversely affect the health and safety of others (including; children, visitors, sub-contractors etc.).

They will also follow and health and safety legislation from the England Rugby Football Union (RFU), including risk assessment procedures, for all work done in other venues away from Clifton Lane.

The TCF will also adhere to all H&S procedures of those venues. Details of how this will be achieved are given in thishealth and safety statement. The Trustees will ensure that effective consultation takes place with all employees on health and safety matters and that individuals are consulted before allocating particular health and safety functions to them.

Where necessary the Trustees will seek specialist advice to determine the risks to health and safety in the areas they work in and the precautions required to deal with them. The Trustees will provide sufficient information and training in health and safety matters to all employees in respect to the risk of their health and safety.

The Trustees requires the support of all staff to enable the maintenance of high standards of health and safety in the activities under- taken by the TCF.

- The TCF is committed to continually improving its health and safety performance.

- The TCF and RRUFC will aim to comply with the RFU Health and Safety Policy and arrangements.  

- The TCF and RRUFC will ensure that the Clifton Lane site and premises is maintained in a safe condition for the activities held there.

- The TCF will work to all H&S regulations at any school or venue they attend, including folowing RFU Risk Assessments for all activities.
 
- The TCF will regularly review health and safety arrangements (minimum annually) and implement new arrangements where necessary.  

- The TCF will promote high standards and develop a positive culture of health and safety within their activities, on and off site.  

- The TCF will ensure all employees to have necessary competence to conduct their duties in relation to health and safety matters.  RFU risk assessments will be completed and recorded of activities (including those off-site) which could constitute a significant risk to the health and safety of employees and others.

- The TCF will ensure the statement of intent and other health and safety documentation is drawn to the attention of all employees.   

Accident, Incidents and Near Miss Reporting and Investigation

- At Clifton Lane, any employee who witnesses an accident, incident or near miss, or to whom one is reported, will make an entry in the accident report book as soon as possible after the event. Accident book is kept by Lindsay Jones

- If at a venue, the employee will follow the reporting procedure for that venue.

The following types of incidents must be reported;

-Any incidents which result in children, participants in activities or members of the public requiring further medical treatment.

-Where accidents are found to be caused by faulty equipment, premises or unsafe systems, work action must be taken to remove or isolate the hazard and warn people of the necessary modifications or repairs can be made.

First Aid

- All TCF player coaches to have up to date First Aid Certificates.
- All incidents in other venues will be reported directly to relevant person at the venue, and their first aid procedures followed.

Risk Assessment

- TCF will follow RFU Guidance on risk assessment for all activity linked to sporting Activities.
- Risk Assessment for inflatables will be reviewed and updated separately.
- Risk assessment for non sporting activities, eg. Smoothie making will be reviewed separately.
